What this is

Writing Streak is a weekly newsletter for writers who care about craft — the quiet, recurring problems of getting words onto a page and making them carry weight. Each issue is a short essay paired with an exercise designed to be done in a single sitting, at the desk, with whatever you happen to be working on.

A constraints-led approach: small, focused tasks that invite discovery rather than prescribe technique. The exercises draw on ecological dynamics and the constraints-led approach to skill acquisition. The essays draw on whatever's been useful — Calvino, Aristotle, Saunders, Bantjes, the air fryer in your kitchen — and try to leave you with something you can put to work the next morning.

No podcast. No course. The streak does not punish you when life intervenes. New issues land most weeks. The archive collects everything published so far. The tools above are the standalone interactive pages — frameworks, generators, prompts — meant to be used at the desk while you write, not just read about.
